Mac Masters - Terms and Conditions
Last Updated Date: March 24, 2025
These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Mac Masters ("we," "us," or "our"), including our website, in-store services, and any related communications. By using our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
- Services Provided
We provide computer, cellphone, and electronic device repair services. We will diagnose the problem with your device and provide you with an estimate for the repair. We will only perform the repair if you approve the estimate.
- Estimates and Payment
Mac Masters repairs computers & devices on a first-come, first-served basis. We may give you an estimate of when your computer might be completed, but this is not a guaranteed completion time. You will be called when your computer or device is completed.
Estimates are provided based on our initial assessment of the device. The actual cost of the repair may vary if additional issues are discovered during the repair process. We will notify you of any changes to the estimate and obtain your approval before proceeding. Approval can be provided in writing or verbally.
Payment is due upon completion of the repair.
If you decline the repair after we have diagnosed the problem, a diagnostic fee may be charged. This fee covers the time and expertise involved in diagnosing the issue.
- Data Loss
Important: During the process of repair, data may get damaged or, at worst, deleted. You are solely responsible for backing up your data before bringing your device in for repair. We are not liable for any data loss that may occur during the repair process.
While we take precautions to protect your data, we cannot guarantee that your data will not be lost or corrupted. We offer a premium backup service provided at an additional cost to ensure your data is safely backed up if you opt for this service.
Please be advised that it is your responsibility to understand the impact of installs/upgrades/removals on the operating system, applications, and utility system. Some problems can only be resolved by completely erasing or restoring the devices to default settings and reinstalling the operating system. You acknowledge and agree that Mac Masters shall not be responsible under any circumstance for loss, alteration, or corruption of any data or for your inability to use your equipment or product.
- Warranty
A limited warranty on parts and labor will be provided at no cost to the customer for sixty (60) days from the repair date. The warranty only covers part malfunctions caused by manufacturer defects or installation errors. It will not cover physical or cosmetic damages, customer negligence, or neglect after service has been rendered unless the customer purchases an extended warranty for their device.
Warranty will not be offered on either parts or service if the customer requests work be done on parts that they themselves supply. Mac Masters does not warranty repair services on customer-provided parts. No limited warranty will be granted for water-damaged devices and inoperable devices that cannot power on and must be verified and tested for eligibility by a technician.
The warranty is void if the device is opened or tampered with by anyone other than us.
To claim warranty service, you must return the device to us with proof of purchase.
- Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, our liability for any damages arising from or relating to our services is limited to the amount you paid for the repair.
We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost data, or loss of use of your device.
- Abandoned Devices
We will notify you once your computer or device is ready to be picked up. We will not attempt to contact you more than three (3) times. If your equipment is not picked up within sixty (60) days, whether it is paid for or not, it will become the property of Mac Masters. Emails and SMS messages are considered electronic communication. You consent to receive communications from us electronically. You consent that all agreements, notices, disclosures, and other communications that we provide to you electronically satisfy any legal requirement that such communications be in writing. We will make reasonable efforts to contact you before disposing of an abandoned device. We may sell or otherwise dispose of abandoned devices to recoup our costs.
- SMS/Text Messaging
We use SMS/text messaging through our point-of-sale (POS) to communicate with you regarding appointment reminders, repair updates, and, with your express consent, occasional promotional offers relevant to your device or repair history.
- Consent: By providing your mobile phone number and opting in to receive SMS messages from us, you consent to receive text messages from Mac Masters for the specified purposes. You may provide consent verbally.
- Opt-Out: You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying "STOP" to any message you receive from us. Doing so will remove you from all SMS campaigns managed through our POS provider.
- Message Frequency: Message frequency varies. You will primarily receive messages related to scheduled appointments and updates on the status of your repairs. We will send promotional messages sparingly and only to those who have explicitly opted in.
- Message and Data Rates May Apply: Message and data rates may apply. Check with your mobile carrier for details.
- 10DLC Compliance: We are committed to complying with all applicable 10DLC (10-Digit Long Code) regulations and guidelines through SMS services.
- Permitted Message Types: We only send the following types of SMS messages:
- Appointment Reminders: Notifications about upcoming scheduled appointments.
- Repair Updates: Updates on the status of your device repair (e.g., diagnostic complete, parts ordered, repair completed).
- Missed call: If we miss a call from you, we’ll drop you a message
- Review request: If we have completed a repair, we request you share your feedback on our Google profile.
- No Sharing of Information: We will not share your mobile number with any third parties for their marketing purposes.
